He wasn’t even around when Jesus showed up the first time. He got the notes about what happened at the first meeting after the Lord’s resurrection, but he refused to get on board with His fellow co-workers. Eight days later, in a closed door meeting, Jesus suddenly showed up again.
As He stood among His followers, Jesus once again said to them, “Peace be with you.” Then directing His attention specifically towards Thomas, Jesus invited him to not be held back by the obstacle of unbelief ever again.
† Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at My hands. Put your hand into the wound in My side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
John 20:27 NLT
A lack of faith is one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of that breakthrough growth we’re often looking for in both our personal and professional development.

Once the obstacle of unbelief was removed, . . .
† Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen Me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing Me.”
John 20:29 NLT
