For most people, a scattered mind filled with more chaos than peace, can cloud our vision, decrease effective decision-making, and lead to increasing amounts of stress.
For the people of Israel, facing a unknown and turbulent future (Isaiah 24), Isaiah’s statement was meant to offer hope and a promise of peace, based on a vision for a much better future (Isaiah 25).
Our mind can jump to a hundred different things that may or may not need our attention, but one thing is for sure. When our mind becomes overloaded beyond normal stress levels, it’s hard to love, live and lead effectively with the things that matter most!
However, when you give God your undivided attention, even if just for a few moments at the beginning of your day, and really any time of day, God can then minister to your mind and give you a peace the world cannot give. It’s a “shalom” peace — a divine blessing of health, wholeness, and well-being.
Jesus shared with His disciples, . . .
† “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Do you hear the words the Lord has for you today?
When you’re able to receive this blessing of peace which comes from God alone, He can then bring focus to that which is most important. Not just the next thing to do, but the right thing, in the right steps and in the right sequence.
It’s absolutely amazing the way His perfect peace can reduce the stress we experience in our everyday lives, when we fix our eyes on Him and allow Him to do the leading.
Let me encourage you today:
Take a moment right now, to fix your eyes on the Lord. Ask Him to reveal His presence to you as you make yourself present to Him. Share with Him what’s weighing heavy on your heart and your mind today. Trust in Him, knowing that you are being heard. And as you’re doing this, let Him share His blessing of peace with you.
When you do this, you can expect Him to minister to your mind and your heart, drawing you even closer to Himself, and His perfect peace.
† You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

Let’s Pray…
O Lord our God, Abba Father, You have promised to never leave us or forsake us. Make your presence known to us as we make ourselves present to you. Grant unto us that peace which surpasses all understanding; that peace which the world cannot give. And as we still our souls in your presence, stretch out Your mighty hand to heal, strengthen and minister in and through our lives, and to those whose lives we may touch this day. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen!
