I few weeks ago I saw the signs that spring was coming and that summer would not be far behind. But then this happened! . . . I never would have imagined experiencing a snowstorm on the Monday after Palm Sunday!
This was a decision made by upper management. It’s not the normal seasonal pattern. The season of spring had already arrived, but then God decided to throw in one more snowstorm.
The unusual weather today reminds me of what God said through the Prophet Isaiah:
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
There are times when God wants to remind us that He is our Majestic King, sovereign over all things in heaven and on earth. There is a pattern that our seasons normally follow—spring, summer, winter, fall and then it repeats itself again. But sometimes God makes an executive decision to do something different.
Don’t let an unforeseen storm in your life cause you to doubt God’s ability to fulfill His Word in your life.
The Word He has given us to build our lives upon; to encourage and share with others;
The Word that created the heavens and the earth, and everything in them;
The Word that split the Red Sea, rained bread from heaven and brought forth water from the rock;
The Word that caused the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the lepers to be cleansed, and brought the dead back to life;
The Word that was present in the beginning, that was with God and Who was God; Who came triumphantly into Jerusalem; Who suffered a horrific and humiliating death on a cross and was resurrected from the grave; Who entered into His glory in heaven and is now seated in the place of honor at God’s right hand;
The Word Who was and is, and is to come;
The Word God sends out and gives to us, WILL INDEED fulfill and accomplish all that God wants it to!
When God allows something out of the ordinary to occur in our lives, like an unexpected snowstorm in springtime, and you remain firm in your belief in God’s ability to fulfill His Word in your life, you will navigate that storm much better with the assurance that God WILL INDEED bring about the victory!
“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
Isaiah 55:10-11 NLT
