During the Christmas season, we are reminded of God’s desire to once again capture our attention and draw us closer to Himself.
It begins with Advent, the days preceding the Christmas event, and culminates with the birth of the Christ child. It’s a time of preparing for His arrival, for families to reunite, and for people to come together in a spirit of goodwill and reconciliation.
Prominent themes that often highlight the holiday season include love, joy, and peace on earth, but it also should include elements of anticipation and expectancy, mystery and wonder.
The mystery of Christ entering into humanity by the power of the Holy Spirit invites us to follow in His footsteps, to become child-like again in our faith by letting Him be born in us anew today!
It’s like receiving a renewed gift of innocence and dependence upon Him; a new life reborn without loss; without the scars of grief; where joy has no past to keep it from being fully expressed and experienced.
It’s a mysterious gift from God through the Christ child coming to us and being with us. It’s a new relationship birthed within us as we experience “Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
Jesus‘ birth didn’t happen with big fanfare. Few people saw it coming. But for those who did, the journey was a compelling mystery to be pursued—an adventure filled with awe and wonder.
Today’s SIMPLE TIP:
