Cloud and Pillar

How to Embrace the Mystery and Be Obedient When It’s Obvious

The LORD led His people by a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire by night. They were called to pursue and embrace the mystery during the day and the obvious at night.

God is not about the business of not giving us what we need to follow Him. His presence, wisdom, strength, leading and courage to follow Him are continually before us to pursue and embrace 24 hours a day. It just may look different at different times or in different seasons of our lives.

In dark times it would seem obvious that His light would be the best way to capture the attention of His people and reveal the way in which they were to travel. And during the day, although leading by a cloud may seem a bit mysterious, it was how God thought it would be best to lead His people when darkness was not present.

Whether you’re going through a time or season in your life when following God seems obvious or a bit of a mystery, be reminded today that God is still trustworthy. His love and faithfulness are still everlasting. His Word, wisdom and leading are still present in the mystery and worthy of our obedience when it is obvious!

Ask the Lord today for the grace and courage to embrace His mysterious nature and be obedient to His Word, especially when it is obvious!

“The Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light, so that they might travel by day and by night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.” ‬‬
